The Scream was painted by Edvard Munch in 1893. It's an oil painting and it shows a landscape and a man. The dramatic scenery includes a man who is screaming at the front and in the back there are two men. It is thought that it is based in the tormented life of the artist.

This type of work is typical of Expressionism, an art movement which started in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. The expressionism used violent colors and bitter images. Their work sometimes shows the theme of loneliness and misery.

The Scream was first exhibited in 1893. One of them (there are four copies), it was auctioned in 2012 and sold for nearly $ 120 million, being the most expensive artwork auctioned history. It was later donated to The National Gallery in Oslo, where it is now kept.

I’d like to recommend a film which I have seen twice, called Pearl Harbor. The director of the film is Michael Bay.

The film is a drama and the setting is Pearl Harbor, Hawaii during the Second World War. The main characters are two friends. Rafe (Ben Affleck) goes to the war and everybody thinks that he is dead. Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) and Danny (Josh Hartnett) fall in love. When Rafe appears, he fights with Danny, because Evelyn was his girlfriend. The Japanese bombarded the island and they have to fight with them. They go to a special mission to bomb Tokyo. There, the Japanese kill Danny and Rafe goes home with Evelyn. Finally, they have a little boy called Danny.

The things I liked most about the film were the characters and the theme of love. Some of scenes are memorable because they are real, and the plot is real and sometimes is a bit sad.

All in all, I really like the drama, and thought it has got a sad end, I would change it, because a lot of people die, so it’s sad. It’s a nice film to see, but it’s still got a strong message, because the film dramatizes what happened.

Peligros (Granada)

Dear Mr. de Ana,
I represent a group called 'Union is Lobres'. I'm writing to you because we are concerned about plans of destroying the only park that we have and build a motorway in its place.

In our opinion, a motorway isn't necessary and it is not safe, so if there is one near us, all the people will be in danger.
If we have a motorway, it is possible that there will be problems as noise, landscape and pollution would be bad for our crops and for some of the people who live near. A motorway, on the other hand, might be a good start for create jobs; promote tourism and commerce around us, and to Lobres rises.

We have therefore decided to take action, and we are going to organize a march around the village and then a protest in the square. For this reason, we hope that you and your team of professionals will go to Lobres the 27th  May, support us and help us to publicize this event and finally the council decide not to build the motorway
Yours sincerely,

Andrea G
